Whenever I meet new people and they ask me where I’m from, there’s never a simple answer. I was born in Philadelphia but really grew up in St. Louis. From there, I studied in Boston, and then worked and lived in Seattle and New York. In 2012, I spent a year living in Buenos Aires, Argentina with my husband. I promise to give you the long version later if you’re really interested!

I’ve always loved photography as a hobby and spent much of my free time experimenting by photographing architecture, landscapes and wildlife. But as it turns out, what interested me most were the people. That’s what really drew me in. After I dedicated myself and began taking lessons to develop my skills, I discovered a true passion for photos and decided to start a business of my own.

Steadily, friends and family members began asking me to photograph their children and families. It took just a few photo shoots to know that I was hooked! Word of mouth then helped connect me with new clients and Sara Kalish Photography was born.
